Today I had student council, this is on every Wednesday at 12:15 and finishes around 12:35,it was very hard because Hannah (Head Girl) wasn't there and Mrs Trotter was't there either so it was very hard to run because when Hannah or Mrs Trotter are there then everyone listen's but when they aren't there then people will be silly. the leaner qualities that I showed were respect because I was respecting the people that were talking by being quiet and I also was showing active thinking because I was there on time right time right place, I was also showing leadership by helping the seniors by keeping the other children quiet.

On Tuesday I had Tech we have to be at school before 8:30 so I leave at 8:20 at the latest so that I get there on time because if you get there after 8:30 then you will miss the bus because the bus doesn't wait for you to get to school, to get there we have to go on the bus we leave school at 8:30 am and get to Lincoln Primary at 9:00 am at tech I do cooking and we cooked burgers because it was our last season at cooking. On the bus it was quiet because people were only talking to the people next to them, the learner qualities that I showed were respect because I was respecting the bus, I was also showing leadership by being at school on time right place right time.

On Tuesday I had Librarian with Jade and Sophie and we had a lot of books to put away because there are a lot of classes that come to the library on a Tuesday, we also had an extra job to do which was to stand at the door because there were so many people in the library so we had to say to some people sorry but the library is to fill, the learner qualities that I showed were respect because I was respecting the books and also other equipment that I used, I was also showing leadership by showing Jade were to put some books because she didn't no were they went.

Today I was getting involved by playing with Candice and we were shooting hoops,First at 12:50 I ran to get a ball for each of use so we could shoot hoops, then we went to a hoop on on of the courts and started shooting hoops,the learner qualities that I showed were Active thinking because I was thinking about when to shoot it so that I didn't hit anyone, I also showed leadership by motivating my other friends that were playing a different game I was motivating them that they were able to get it in the hoop even though one of them didn't play netball.

Today I was getting involved by playing around the world with Candice, Around the world you need a ball and a hoop so when the outside lunch bell rung I went out to get a ball and we went to the basketball hoops to play, I found that it was very hard to play because the sun was shining in our eyes so we couldn't see where the hoop was,The learner qualities that I showed were respect because I was respecting the equipment, I also showed leadership by motivating Candice that she could get the ball in the hoop.

Today I had Kapa Haka and we were practicing our poi because nobody new what was happening with the poi because people on the other side of the hall they were doing all different actions to what we were doing, Kapa Haka today went from 10:30 to 11:30 so we could practice our songs , The leaner qualities  that I showed were Respect because I was respecting the poi that had been made, I also show leadership by motivating Candice that she could do the actions because she didn't believe in herself.

Today I was getting involved by writing out the script for radio station that Candice,Jade and I had at lunch time we got it all done which was great because then we weren't rushing at lunch when we had radio station at 1:00 and this finishes at 1:30, I really enjoyed doing it because we all got to choose two songs each instead of one person choosing all of the songs, The learner qualities that I showed were collaboration because I was collaborating and putting down all of my ideas, I also showed leadership by getting organized with what I needed to get and have at lunch for radio station.

Today Candice, Jade, Savannah, Leaana and I had Radio Station, This is near the school hall and it starts at 1:00 and finishes at 1:30, I was sitting at the laptop so I had to turn on and off the songs that we chose to put on the radio,the learner qualities that I showed were Respect because I was respecting the equipment the we had to use. I was also showing leadership by motivating Savannah to speak on air because she was very nervous  to do it.

On Tuesday I had Librarian with Jade and Sophie and we had a lot of books to put away, When the 12:50 bell rang we all went to the library to start our duty we have to close the library at 1;20 and then we have to go around and tidy up all of the shelves so that the books are in the right place for the next people that are in the library, the learner qualities the I showed were Respect because I was Respecting all of the books that I was putting away, I was showing leadership by motivating Jade on where to put the books.

Yesterday I was getting involved because I was playing King,Popcorn and Bounce with Candice, these games involve a netball and a netball hoop and this can be played with two or ore players, these games are all to do with shooting skills,the learner qualities that I was showing were Excellence because I was playing safely, I was also showing leadership by motivating Candice that she could get it in when she was far away.

My Short Story

I have been focusing on my vocabulary and punctuation. I have been learning to Use a range of precise vocabulary to communicate meaning (Year ⅞) use all basic punctuation independently and attempt more complex punctuation (e.g semicolons, colons, parentheses) (Year 7/8).

My Story...

Nervous, excited,scared,it’s Rebecca’s first day of her tour guiding job.

BANG!! …… One day there was a 17 year old girl named Rebecca, she is a teenager who loves to go for a walk in the forest, she has just started a job as a tour guide, guiding people in and around the forest in Wellington. She is very kind to others and she loves to meet other people. Rebecca lives in Wellington with her parents and younger sister ( Molly). This will be Rebecca's first time guiding people in and around the forest. Rebecca loves to get involved in everything that she can, Rebecca’s best friends are Brooklyn and Gemma who are also tour guide’s.

On the first day of her tour guiding job she found a new friend, her name was Talia and she ended up being Rebecca’s best friend. On the second day of her job she had to tour two Adults and two kids and Rebecca loved guiding them because they were very kind, they loved Rebecca guiding them because she was very descriptive in what she was saying about the forest.

On the third day she took one of her groups on the tour and since it is in Wellington it means that it is very windy and then they heard a BANG!! (and it was one of the big tree’s that feel over from the wind), so they were stuck and they were walking on sinking sand so they sunk and ended up in this very dark cave.

They were walking for 30 mins in the cave and came to this mysterious door, Rebecca tried to push the door but it started creaking so Rebecca tried again and again , on the third time she tried to push the door she fell through the door then they see this big open  space ……“LOOK!!! this is where me and my friends have lunch”. Rebecca explained..

After that, the three children and the three parents who were in the group that Rebecca was guiding they got invited to have lunch with Rebecca and the team because of what happened , because the team felt sorry for what happened , They were very pleased that they got invited and they all had a lovely afternoon having their lunch all together.

Today I was getting involved by playing with Candice and Brook today we were playing on the playground. On the playground we were on the monkey bars doing tricks and swinging across from bar to bar,The learner qualities that I showed were Respect because I was listening and showing respect to others. I was also showing leadership because I was motivating Candice that she could get up on top of the monkey bars.

Today I had Peer Mediation and it was great because I had no problems to solve. Which means that everybody was playing nicely with there friends,I was walking around the field then went to the Junior area. The leadership qualities that I showed were Respect because I was respecting there ideas even though they didn't have a problem in the end. I was showing leadership by turning up to my job right time right place.

Investigate situations that involve elements of chance/ Probability

I learn't that you need to half both numbers until you can't half them both then that should be your answer. 

I can describe the structure of a Short Story

Something I have learned about the structure of short stories is:……… That they talk about the problem straight away.

After reading some short stories two things I will remember when I write my own short story are … Talk about my problem at the start of the story… and … That the problem can be good or bad.
